2002 nissan maxima transmission problem

check engine light came on about two week ago. when i put the car in drive (D) the overdrive (2) light lights up at the same time and the car wont shift out right.  but sometimes while driving it goes off and the car runs perfectly.   i went to autozone to get the diagnostic and it said that it was a neutral safety switch and vehicle speed sensor problem.  replace both and still have the same problem.
Help Please!!!!!!!!
