Can a timing chain problem cause problems with the valves

Asked by Barrachito Oct 26, 2014 at 08:19 PM about the 2002 Nissan Frontier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving home from work and my truck quit as I was getting home. I tried to start it
but it wouldn't start. I took the fuel line apart to see if it was the fuel pump. I was
wondering if I will have problems with the valves as a result of trying to start it

Yes, if engine has jumped timing all ready, because it is and interference motor, meaning if it has jumped,it all ready has damage, first thing would be to check the timing before you do anything futher.
