Before replacing the fuel pump you may want to change the fuel filter make sure you have enough pressure when you turn your engine over the course spark is an issue I hope you check that first then replaced the fuel filter .This truck has what they call a MAF sensor and it basically mixes the air fuel mixture. After changing feel filter check pressure from the pump just turn the key if everything is okay here you may want to look at replacing the MAF sensor it's about the same price as the fuel pump. More than likely you just have a clogged fuel filter digging up sediment from the tank if you've never changed it that's probably what it is that MAF sensor has been a problem especially at low idle RPM shutting the truck down. Hope this helps
