Sounds, like the blower box actuator is bad,or the heater core is stopped up or been disconnected, the over heating depends on if you are loosing coolant?

Not losing coolant. Heater core is connected. As for the other 2 suggestions I will be contacting the dealer about the problem as I just purchased this vehicle today. Thank for all of your help, will let you know the outcome.

I had this problem with my daughters civic. I removed the one side of the heater core lines at the intake and return. I then used my air compressor and blew air threw it and it shot out a ton of gunk. You have to blow it out in reverse though. Air hose inserted into the return to blow out the blockage. It fixed my issue and cost me no money
