1993, not starting. Replaced starter switch and added a new battery. Told to start after Eng. check light went out. Still nothing!!

1993 Hatchback, have trouble starting some time. New Battery installed, and new starter switch. There is now a clicking sound, lasting about a second. then nothing. Checked all the fuses, seems to be OK. Was told to wait till the ENG. Check light went out to start the car, STILL nothing. Please help???

There may be a problem with the starter, should have the starter checked out. Try tapping on the starter with a hammer to see if it makes it work.
