REPLACED RADIATOR now im LEAKING transmission fluid 98 MITSUBISHI MONTERO SPORT

I replaced my radiator and I have an external
transmission cooler.  One of the lines is now
leaking transmission fluid and now im not sure if i
have it hooked up right.   Im not sure why this little
metal threaded piece is even on this line.

that is where it was leaking, i disconnected it to take picture. should that hose even be connected to that metal thing? that is the hose that comes from my transmission cooler and goes back to the transmission. i also have a hose from transmission into radiator. then i have a hose from radiator to the transmission cooler.
