02 Montero no spark at coil

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Montero 3.5 that has no spark coming from the ignition coil for cylinders 3/6. The coil, plug wires, and plus are all brand new. A mechanic told me to replace the ECU however I'm not sure if I agree considering the other coils are fine. Also, I have seen several post saying the exact same issue and they replaced the ECU and it persisted. Any help is appreciated.
