wheels alignment

Asked by Mar 05, 2016 at 11:33 AM about the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I took my evo's wheel assembly apart to install lowering springs, while
everything was unbolted my little brother climbed in the car and turned the
wheel. Whenever I put everything back together I now how to hold the
wheel to the right to drive straight. A part of me feels like the car is simply
out of alignment but the part that makes me second guess that is that i
don't have to apply force to the wheel to hold it to the right. And the car
doesn't seem to veer off to the left. Can someone help answer this for me?

I don't think your little bother did anything, but anytime you install new suspension parts in the front end, like struts, springs, tie rods, etc, as it changes the geometry of the front end. You need to drive immediately over to an alignment shop ASAP for safety sake, saving your tires from wear and your Lancer will drive straight again.
