Lights going out sounds like a connection issue. Clean and tighten the connections. The factory connections tend to break right where the bolt goes thru them.

The design of this positive battery cable is rediculous. Constantly having connection issues, blown fuses, even after replacement. Who ever designed this apparatus is an asshole.

If I ever see a Mitsubishi engineer I swear to God I'd throw a rock at them. This positive battery cable design is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
