1994 mazda B4000 clutch or tranny issue
a few days ago my truck had issues with shifting
into gear. i had to force it into gear. got the truck
home and parked. next day i couldnt shift into gear
at all while the truck was running. with the truck
not running i can shift into gear with no problems.
but if i try to start it in gear the starter turns once to
fire up and the truck lurches ahead but wont fire up
or keep turning the starter. im at a loss as to what
the issue is. hoping there is a way i can fix myself.
no money to take it into a shop. any advice would
Sounds to me like a clutch issue
So the truck moves with it in gear while cranking it over tells me that the clutch hydraulics are gone, have you checked the fluid in the clutch master cylinder? If it is low refil and recheck clutch operation, if it is full then your going to have to replace the clutch master and slave cylinder to do it right, and as the tranny is going to be pulled to do this you should also replace the clutch with a good quality clutch kit. This not a job for a novice, so if you don't have the tools and equipment don't attempt this.
Thanks for the best answer points. Hope the job goes smoothly.
Its your clutch slave cylinder. I would check the master cylinder first cause you don't have to pull the trans for that. That being said just like tennisshoes said if you pull the tranny than its good to replace the clutch kit too some of the clutch kits come with the slave cylinder so look into that. Sorry boss its a time-consuming job.
