Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Need to know what type of transmission it has or
where to find out. Wont shift out of second, but
need to know what it is before trying to fix

There should be a metal tag on the transmission with the information that you need on it. It's probably covered with 28 years of dirt and dust. It's usually near the back of the transmission on the side. Hope that helps! Jim

Thank you I found the codes in the glove box it's a 4L80E. We did just replaced the transfer case (10 days ago) It froze while driving , now the transmission wont shift out of 2nd. Where should I start
