What could the problem be

I have a 2002 grand Marquis the car will run
for a while and then it will cut off and then I
need a jump

Sounds like battery won't hold charge. Try to get into parts store and get battery and alternator tested. Batteries only last so long.

Probably the alternator, get it tested.
