It is possible the blower motor control unit has gone bad. The blower motor control is under the hood sort of behind the passenger side cam cover on the firewall. Sometimes you can tap on the module and make the blower speeds work for a few minutes or longer. If tapping on the module changes the speed then the module needs to be replaced. Bad solder joints are the normal failure point with these modules. Certainly there could be a problem with the blower switch or the EATC unit if equipped with ATC.

Bob, Is this something I will be able to change myself?

Yes if the part is bad you can change it yourself. It is not really easy, but doable by the average person with some mechanical knowledge and the tools necessary. Always disconnect the negative battery terminal when working on the electric system.
