2005 Mercury Mountaineer V8

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer V8. I am
not a mechanic and bought it because my last SUV
needed a transmission and it was too expensive
for me to replace.... The Problem: I bought it
without driving it, due to needing a vehicle asap. It
seems to be running very rough. The battery is very
old and needs to be jumped, which I will replace.
My main problem is, when I hit the gas it doesn't
want to move, maybe 5 mph and rough. Being a
female I only know so much about cars, can
anybody please tell me it's something stupid and
easy to fix? I can't get it to a shop because it barely
moves. Dash says TEST and a d900 code comes
up. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
