Between the transmission and the body of the car is where the transmission fluid would be put. Here is a step by step with images on how to change transmission fluid in a mazda rx7: http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/transfluid.htm The images will show you what you are looking for.

If your 98 626 is like mine, you put it in through the dipstick tube. Use a funnel.

MOST AUTOMATICS GET FILLED THROUGH THE DIPSTICK TUBE
