hmmm, didn't know there was a factory alarm for the P5?!?!?! Must be an aftermarket installed at the dealer, as far as I can see. but if it was indeed a factory alarm system, all you would have to do is hook the battery back up and unlock the drivers door or the passengers door with the key to disarm it. can you post a pic of the remote? that may help in identifing the type of system.

I have a 2002 ( with over 200,000 miles) with the same problem. I found grounding issues with where the battery ground was grounded.( don't go by the wire being tight. When I took it loose their was corrosion under the wire and under the bolt head). They did have issues with grounds on some year models I was told so, check all your grounds. They can make a car do funny stuff. I also believe I have a ignition switch ( it's the switch that mounts at the key switch) that is sticking or has worn contacts. If I jar the key slightly when I turn it the car starts everytime. As far as the alarm. I pushed the lock /unlock button on the driver door several times and that took car of that problem.
