How many gallons of Dexron-III Mercon are required to change the transmission oil

The oild change people told me that I needed to do a flush for the transmission and it was about $ 120....I have a friend who told me to buy the oil (2 gallons) and he would do the flush. Sorry for my ignorance in this matter. Thanks in anticipation

I would spend the $120.00 and keep the friend away from the car.
