my 2002 mazda 626 is experiencing some overheating problems and the drivers side fan is not coming on.

my 2002 Mazda 626 v6 engine is overheating while idiling and when im in alot of bumper to bumper traffic. when i start driving the needle moves from the H and gors back to normal. my husband says that the driver side fan isnt working. he did the test where you check the fans and they both didnt work.

unplug the fans jump power and ground to them. If they run you will know the fans are good and it is a control problem.
