What causes the RPM to keep racing? Even in park my mazda mpv 2003 van the revs are almost at 2

You could have a vacuum leak or a leak between the air filter and the throttle body. Check all the connections and clamps to be sure they are all snug. Also check vacuum hoses at the engine.
