2004 mazda 6 has 1575 miles in 2 year period since last oil change, when should oil be changed again

Yes The oil should be changed at least every 6 months despite how few miles are driven, this keeps the moisture and fuel contaminants out of the engine. I assume that it is started at least every other week and allowed to warm up and drove around the block, especially in winter.


At least once a year but twice a year is best. Compare a new engine cost (5 grand) to the 40 bucks for an oil change.
