Chevy C-10 melted power cable after replacing no power to the switch ?

My c-10 won't start ! I put a new flex plate in and
must of moved the positive battery cable it melted
against the exhaust manifold ... I replaced the cable
now turn signals work in run position but the
solinoid is not clicking the starter in ?  Is Captian
Kelly out there ?
