68 c/10 gas gauge not working stays on empty when unplug sending unit it goes past full

Sounds like the sending unit is stuck. It happens. The gauge should respond if its broken. My old chevy's fuel gauge did backflips while i was driving. Lol never messed with it tho.

I had the same problem. I replaced the sending unit and it did the same thing. I then replaced the guage and it worked perfectly.
