It sounds like you're saying that the dead battery keeps you from unlocking the car with your remote or your electronic keypad, if it has one. Okay. Can you take your ignition key and unlock your driver's door? Or are both the keys locked inside the car too? Hope this helps.

My only key is in the floor. I am assuming the battery died. No lights or any changes when I put in the code. I've been told I have to call a locksmith cksmith. Trying to find another way.

So I guess if a car accident causes battery damage & its on fire or under water you die because your power to the door switch is not there. Bad design.
