2017 Ford focus what is shutting off

Asked by Mar 12, 2019 at 09:26 PM about the 2017 Ford Focus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After I shut off my Ford focus, about 3 minutes
later an electrical sounding noise powers down. It's
not the engine that shuts off when you turn the key.
But it sounds like something is running for several
minutes after. What is that? Concerning?

It might be the cooling/radiator fan. They may run for a minute or two after turning off an engine, to deal with residual heat from the engine. If it runs for TOO long, you might have a bad fan relay or module, but as your car is still new, it's probably running a correct period of time. Next time you park pop the hood and check to see that is what you are hearing.
