Doesn't gas/rev/accelerate

Hello I really need some help! I have a 1981 280zx
Datsun, my problem with it is that one day I was in
a McDonald's drive thru and my cars idle was
lowering as if the car was going to die. So I revved
it so it can stay on, but then it just started lowering
more and more until I had my foot as far down as I
could but then it stopped revving and it died. When
I turned the key it made a nose like it wanted to
start but when I pushed the gas pedal no
connection was made with engine idk what it can
be.

Sounds like a fuel issue First would be change the fuel filter , if you have a no start I would check the fuel pressure if that's OK I would then check fuel pressure regulator.
