Tire size

Asked by Ryanber Sep 19, 2018 at 08:48 PM about the 1999 Lincoln Continental

Question type: General

Can I put 215 55 16 on a Lincoln Continental
? I found some tires for a really good price
but not sure if they will fit the Continental as
it calls for a bigger size of 225 60 16

Those tires are narrower and shorter. I do not recommend that you use them.

Please explain more,, narrower would be good for winter time tho right? I've been told I don't want wider in the snow so they should be better for control?

The wider the tire, the better the bite on the snow. Personally, i would go with the correct tire size for the vehicle.
