Needs working replacement key for my Lincoln

I lost the key to my 2000 Lincoln town car
and it stood in our drive way for 7 months I
recently called lock smith to come make a
replacement key for my car and he wasn’t
able to communicate with the computer in
the car in order to make the key so I called a
second business and same thing he came
and when he try to program key it wouldn’t
let him communicate to computer i don’t
know what else can be wrong please help!
