The best thing to do is stop by your local Subaru dealerships parts department and buy some coolant from them. That way you will get the proper coolant. It is not as simple as picking a color anymore.

For a new Subaru I would do as Bob says and use Subaru brand coolant. If you are flushing the system use all purpose.

It’s subaru Blue super coolant. Never add water to it. You’ll need just under 2 gallons to drain and refill your system. Do not put any other coolant in it will lead to major issues and expensive repairs. If you mix any other coolant in with Subaru super coolant it will cause head gasket issues
