03 Lincoln LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 03 Lincoln LS has something going on
with the transmission. From 1st to 2nd
gear it jumps into gear kinda hard from 2nd
to 3rd gear it kinda like I guess you could
say SORTA stalls but then catches up all in
1 second but after that it runs very smooth.
And it only does it when I come to a
complete stop and when the car warms
up. It has the sealed transmission. What
could it be a sensor or the trans going out?
Some say drain fluid put new trans fluid in
it along with new filter and in a week it will
do good so idk. Any opinions anyone
experiencing this with their car

If you do decide to change filter and fluid add some Lucas Transmission Stop Slip.

My car does the EXACT same thing. Same year, same model. Almost like it “takes a breath” into third and then it’s absolutely fine. It’s getting worse slowly I feel like. I’ve been told I need to go ahead and get a transmission.
