Check to make sure it is not set to "mute".

I just solved this exact problem for myself as well. Plug in your phone turn on the GPS once it starts talking adjust the volume and voila problem solved. It is a glitch in the programing for the interface where the volume trips out trying to figure out if you are using your phone or not.

Same problem with my 2019 Acadia . Radio volume up to 30 then stays at that volume or a bit quieter even up to 60. Ive tried the gps thing and that volume seems to work just fine but when it goes back to radio volume it doesnt. What to try next?

I saw on another blog that it is a system glitch looking for your phone. Anyhow go to the audible app while your phone is hooked up to the usb cord. Sample a book, let the words come through your speaker . It did the trick for me . Good luck .

Restart your android auto app. If that doesn't work, delete it and reinstall the app.
