third set of tires

I bought a 2017 Honda Ridgline all wheel drive so I could camping on the
rougher back mountain roads.  after a year and a half the alignment was so far
off the computer couldn't even register it.  Needless to say my tires were wore
down to nothing.  bought my first set of tires that soon!  Fast forward 2019, I
once again am told I need new tires.  haven't had the alignment checked.  Is it
normal for this truck to go through tires so often?  and is the alignment really
that sensitive??

Yeah rough backcountry roads tend to do that. My first set of Michelin’s were replaced after 75,000 miles. Could have gone another 10k- 15k but why take a chance. I bout a cheaper brand (General) and they last less than 45,000 miles. My current tires (Pirelli Scorpions) have 30,000 miles so far and still have over 50% tread life. So, it depends on the tires and how you use your Ridgeline. I have lifetime alignment from Firestone and they recommend bringing it in every 10,000 miles. Hope this helps.
