I have a Lexus LS400 replaced Alternator still having problems. I think my plug going in may have a short. It give symptoms of a bad alternator

The car will start running off the battery. I thought that the alternator was bad
replaced it. The clip going into the alternator had the keeper piece broken off.
I wasn't sure if that could have a short in it. This is my mother in-laws car
please help

Take the alternator off and get it checked out. I had one I replaced on my 91 Lexus LS 400 and it turned out to be a reject.

Cut the plug off a few inches back and/or check the wiring back a few inches for breaks in wiring. Get a new one or one from a pick-a-part auto salvage and spice it on.
