Gas reads at 1/2 full when filled with 16 gallons

Asked by Aug 13, 2019 at 08:57 AM about the 2016 Mazda CX-9

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I placed 16 gallons in my 2016 Mazda CX-9
and when I turned it on it read 1/2 full. I know
it’s at a full tank but the car doesn’t register
that. Anyone have any idea what happened?

If you're within the three year and thirty-six-thousand mile warranty, have it checked/repaired by the dealer. If not, it could be the sending unit that's part of the fuel pump or a wiring connection, or a bad gauge. Have a mechanic check these.
