Yes. That would put the engine in the limp mode to get you home. The O2 sensor sends info to the ECU to regulate the amount of fuel going into the engine - that would be closed loop . When the O2 sensor fails, the ECU richens the mixture and sometimes reduces the power to protect the engine.
