It seems a lot of (if not all) Hyundai and Kia are having the same problem since yesterday. My 2015 Kia Soul is having the same issue too. It seems to be a satellite time server issue Some people found it corrected by resetting the system, disconnecting the battery, or ejecting the SD card for >5min. I would just wait for them to fix it at the other end.

My 2015 Genesis digital clock is not working. When i go to setup and the clock none of the buttons work by touch, Analog is fine although anothe Genesis owner called me Saturday and neither of hers works, i called dealer but seemed foreign to them. The other genesis owner referenced called their dealer and was aware of the widespread issue. I have written Hyundail via email

I actually wrote Hyundai and their response was like they were unaware. I mentioned that it appears to be a widespread problem

I took my 2016 Genesis to the dealer on Monday for the clock problem and the service manager told me it has to do with the satellite software. He said it could be a day, a week, or even a month before it gets fixed. Once the software is updated all the clocks will reset to GPS time.

I was told the same thing for my 2016 Genesis but I also saw where some people are fliping the on/off switch on the fuse and it is working . THEY SAY THEY WAS A GLITCH WITH A UPDATE THEY DID A WEEK AGO & IT WILL FIX ITSELF WHEN THEY UPDATE, AGAIN.

My dealer said the clock not working was tied into the radio and they replaced the radio under warranty on my 2016 Genesis.

After reaidng all posts here and Googling solutions, I went back out to my car to try the "reset fix" around 8:30p MT and when I turned my 2015 Genesis HTRAC 3.8 on, the clock reset all by itself. I really didn't do anything because "it" wouldn't let me and all clock indicators were grey. Now they are lit up again and the clock fixed itself. Just a guess, but I think they had just now fixed the satellite issue. Could be wrong but don't care... Now I have to figure out why my front turn signal "blinker" lights are burning out? This makes three since I bought the car Oct 2018.

My wife had this problem with her 2015 Genesis not showing the clock, but she fixed it by removing the navigation sd card (blowing it off :) and putting it back in. The system restarted and then the clock started showing. Hope this helps.

My i40 clock stopped working and I found this forum via Google. Switched off the ignition, waited 5 minutes, removed the navigation SD card, waited 5 or 10 minutes, switched the ignition back on and there's the clock once again - still retained the right time. To be clear, it took me a couple of goes but it sure works. It seems it's got something to do with the GPS satellite. Anyway .....

Ignition off to start. There's a small slot just above the fan control knob. It look like a blank but it says 'SD map' in black so it's hard to read. Press the front of the slot and the cover pops off. Behind that is the ad card. Press that and it pops out. Wait a few minutes then slot it back in. Wait a few minutes then ignition on and all should be ok. You may have to go through the process a few times for the GPS satellite to catch up.

I took my 2015 Genesis by the dealer yesterday just to ask. They said currently they would do a hard start on the system. Although, one Genesis they did only lasted a day. He told me to wait and bring back in a couple of weeks as Hyundai was still trying to solve on a more permanent basis

Apparently this is a wide range problem with Hyundai in general, hundreds of posts with exactly the same problem. Guess what Hyundai is playing stupid like usual. I tried the reset that didn't work, I went to blue link to activate, the download failed but the clock and date came back. When I shut the car off, then started no clock. I will try the sd removal and insertion. I'm in agreement with most about a software or update problem.

RAM, thanks for the info! Worked like a charm so easily! Literally 30 seconds total from restart to the clock and date displaying again. Tried twice to remove and re-insert the SD card as mentioned by other posters with no luck. So glad I don’t have to spend hours at the dealership with no solution. Thanks again!

Just got in my car and my clock started working again. In setup , no longer blacked out

Pushed the reset button for 15 seconds while the car was running. The screen rebooted and the date and time appeared. Thanks RAM! 2015 Genesis 3.8

RAM solution worked on the second try. I suspect the first try worked but, it takes a while for clock to update.
