2016 Honda CRV AWD Touring, differential & transmission changed at 30,000?
IS THIS TRUE?     My 2002 Honda CRV AWD didn't have to have differential or
transmission change till 99,999 miles and it didn't have a chain.  In fact, the only
thing I ever had to do, was bring it in for oil changes and front end alignments
now and then.

Honda recommends rear differential fluid change at around 20K, not too many people do it, but its cheap insurance to avoid future issues. Doing a drain and refill for the automatic every 30 or 40K is not a bad idea either. Honda does not recommend transmission flushes

Don't be cheap on the fluid changes. Compare the cost of the fluid changes ( a few hundred) to the cost of a drive train or a new car.

I appreciate your advice. I never had to worry about this in the past and I want to make sure, I'm not getting stung along with being ripped off. Thank Ya'all.

Have an independent shop do the fluid changes and you will $ave money. I don't like oil change shops as they use generic oils rather than the correct ones and most of them employ morons.

Per the Maintenance Schedule I have it says replace at 12,500, 62,500, and 112,500. A bit odd as the 1st is after only 12,500; the 2nd after an additional 50,000, and the 3rd after yet another additional 50,000. I hope they don't need to change it at 12,500 due to doubts about it being new. What would get in it or wear out after 12,500; and then not get in or wear out for another 50,000?
