VSC Off will I get better gas mileage

Asked by Steven Oct 21, 2018 at 01:16 PM about the 2004 Lexus GX 470

Question type: General

Can the VSC control be turned Off and in that way get better gas mileage and
less front tire wear?

I doubt it. If you are getting excessive front tire wear you may need an alignment. Slowing down on the corners might help.

If you think about this theoretically, your idea sounds interesting. VSC does use braking in stability control, but only on turns where you most likely use brakes anyway. If turning off VSC would increase gas mileage, I think it would be so small that it would be virtually immeasurable. As Sundance said: "Keep thinking, Butch, that's what you're good at."
