Why are Cadillac so small

Some people like a smaller car. I would not call the Escalade small.

Could always look for and buy a 60's or 70's car.

I guess you need to define small, my Deville is plenty big enough, Escalades are quite large, but the real reason is fuel mileage, the bigger the car the more fuel is consumes, people still don't like a gas guzzler or a car that requires high octane fuel to run properly.

they are competing against bmw & mercedes.
