Excessive pressure in the cooling system can cause hoses to burst. Sometimes this can be caused by a bad head gasket. A bad head gasket does not always put coolant into the oil. You might have it pressure tested and get the coolant tested for combustion gasses to be sure. Also did you bleed the air out of the cooling system? This may or may not apply to your particular vehicle. Do a Google search on bleeding or burping your cooling system to be sure.
