Hot wire my car - lost keys

Asked by Jun 25, 2019 at 12:30 PM about the 2004 Kia Rio

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lost my keys at work today for my Kia Rio 04. I
work on a building site so they could have
disappeared any number of ways. I bought my car
for £300 and it is not worth getting a new set of
keys as it was just meant to get my through my
first year. Does anyone have any knowledge on
how I Hotwire my car? Or get it started without
spending a couple hundred on a new key?
Thanks for any advice.

Hotwiring cars today doesn't do much, if any, good. You damage the steering column and ignition switch, and trip the security system. I'd suggest you either get a replacement key, or use a jackhammer on the concrete you just poured.
