Question type: Maintenance & Repair

And the. Check engine light came
back on and code said it was throttle
position sensor... I was told to run
the car and disconnect the mass air
flow sensor but if I do that then the
car would turn off ... What can be the
problem on a 2004 Kia amanti

Get some Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner and clean your sensor, then check and clean your throttle body. Remove all of the ECM fuses, on yours I think there are 3 of them, let it sit for at least 30 seconds, then reinstall the fuses, start engine and drive as you normally would for about 15 minutes, during that time watch for the check engine light, if it comes back on then find out the code, if it comes back as a mass air flow sensor low then you have a bad mass air flow sensor unit, if it comes back with TPS low then check the minimum Air flow rate, it maybe out of specs.
