Broken steering wheel adjuster

Asked by GuruHLN9F Jul 19, 2019 at 12:56 AM about the 2015 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

My boyfriend was driving my car and when trying
to adjust the steering wheel he broke off the lever
that adjusts it. I was wondering if this will be a
difficult or expensive fix?

Once broken, these levers can be difficult to fix and it usually doesn't work for long. Replacing the lever involves dismantling the steering column. You could see if a screw driver will release it, set the wheel where you want it, and leave it alone. That's the cheapest and possibly the best solution.
