Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I went to work yesterday
morning my car ran fine. When I
went to start it after work nothing.
Completely dead. We boosted it and
it started but then quit again. So we
boosted it again drove around the
area and it quit again. So we boosted
it again and parted it. The battery I
bought about 3 months ago so my
next guess is the alternator. I was
going to get one today and get it
installed. Am I replacing the right
part?

Thank you. Any idea what the best alternator is for the 302 5L, and it is an 88 but the year wasn't an available choice. But yup it's an 88
