Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I disengage Part time 4 wheel drive? I engaged my part time 4 wheel drive and I don't know how to get it back to two wheel drive.

If i am correct the Cherokees have a level to engage the 4WD, yes? If so you should just be able to push the level back to the 2WD position. If you did that it may be that the cable that runs to the engine is too lose and is not disengaging the 4WD.

I have a Jeep Wrangler 1995 I put it into four-wheel drive because it started snowing and I couldn't get up the hill I left it overnight I started it the next day took it out of gear and put it into two wheel drive and it wouldn't go into any gear and when we try to put it into reverse it just grinds but it seems like all the other gears are locked up is it because it is stuck between four-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive
