Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2014 Nissan Sentra with a CVT transmission. Car
won’t accelerate above 30, even going slow the car
is jerking very hard, making whining sounds and
eventually it’ll just act like it died and won’t
accelerate anymore. Not sure if it’s a transmission
issue, fuel pump or what. Any help would be
appreciated.

Your transmisson might be going bad? Did you change the transmission fluid every 50,000 miles? If not, I do not recommend doing it because it might cause more damage. But you can take the risk and do it or just replace the transmission.

Those transmissions are junk, I’m afraid. If you’re under warrentee, see if you can get a replacement. Don’t spend money on it at this point.
