when driving & outside temp gets past 75, engine shuts down at 35mph

Asked by jax1996 Jun 21, 2015 at 06:28 PM about the 1994 Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My bro in law has a 1994 jeep cherokee and when summer comes and weather warms up, he will experience problems with auto shutting down especially if his speed gets below 35mph.  He can let it set for 30 min or so and it will start and sometimes go without any more problem and sometimes it will only go a few miles and shut down againl

Possibly the crank shaft position sensor has a thermal issue. It could be other things too.
