The overdrive gear stripped,I am able to drive with the electric o/d turned off.Will a 518(46 R hydrolic or 46 R electric)or 618(47 R hydrolic or 47 R electric) will work for me.I am looking to buy a used replacement trans.

Hello Graham-- It all depends on which engine you have in your 1995 Grand Cherokee. The 46Rh works with the 5.2 engines. Four the 4.0 engine you would need the 42RE. the 42RE came in grands 93.3 and up. The AW4 was in the grands manufactured 93-93.3. These are for the 4.0L
