1996 keep will only start if I leave it sit for a hour or so

If I go into a store for 10 or 15 minutes it won't start
I have to leave it sit and then once I do get it started
it spits and puts then once it comes out of that it
runs fine . I have did a tune up on it and it did not
help

sometimes you starter or starter relay will over heat and needs to cool down, check these items and also check you coil pack

Couple of things, fuel pressure maybe dropping out when the pump warms up, then crank sensor maybe going open circuit when the engine temp rises, the only problem is the test equipment has to be hooked up to the vehicle and driven until failure to find out what is the actual cause. If I were to make a guess I would replace the crank sensor as these seem to be a common problem on Jeeps. HTH
