why would my jeep idle high

When I started my jeep it start and the idle was
high. Even if u turned it off n start it again it will still  
idle high.

It should have a fairly high idle when cold. How high is the idle?

I had a sporadic idle issue, new idle air control valve fixed it right up, less than a hundred bucks, very easy to change on top of the engine... try cleaning throttle body while you have the part out too, it can really help.
