Brake Warning Light

Asked by Feb 22, 2018 at 05:51 PM about the 1995 Ford Crown Victoria

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a car that the brake automatically
releases on when it is any gear that that
makes the car go forward. But when I am
in park neutral and reverse you have to pull
to make the brake release. My problem is
the brake warning light never comes on. I
know it works because it comes on when I
turn the car on and then it goes off. It is
just never on while the car is running
normal. I'm fairly sure it should be on when
it is in park and running. Please help

There's a switch at the top of the parking brake pedal assembly for this. You'll see a single wire going to the switch. HTH. -Jim
